The Pinzgau dirndl as everyday costume is also one of the region-typical dirndls from Salzburg .
It is usually made of a black and red checkered cotton fabric on the body. This is usually combined with a black skirt and a blue and white striped apron. Incidentally, this color combination is widespread from South Tyrol to Upper Austria.
In contrast to other traditional Salzburg costumes - the Pinzgauer dirndl has a round neckline on the front and back.
The body can be made of cotton or linen check and the patterned buttons on the body are particularly striking.
The skirt usually has a surface pattern, but vertical stripes or a plain-colored fabric made of cotton or wool are also common. The apron features woven and printed designs in all colors in cotton, linen or blended fabrics.
The neckline and the dividing seams are trimmed in black and often there is also a black frill attached to the neckline.
